9:00 AM CST - 2:00 PM CST
Nursing leaders do more than delegate, dictate, and direct; nursing leaders make change happen. These nurses must learn to apply their leadership skills to the public policy arena and influence health care in meaningful ways. The Missouri Nurses Association believes it is vital to involve all Missouri nurses in advocacy. Each and every nurse has the potential to make a positive impact on the profession through public policy advocacy for patients, nurses and the nursing profession.
This conference will teach participants to utilize their leadership abilities in the political world. Nurses are the most trusted profession, and policymakers listen when nurses speak – this conference will help nurses speak confidently with one strong voice. This activity will provide insight into the legislative and regulatory processes and empower nursing leaders to positively impact health care policy through advocacy.
Target Audience
This activity is designed for nursing leaders: chief nursing officers, deans of schools of nursing, vice presidents and directors of nursing, leaders and emerging leaders of facilities, leaders and emerging leaders of education, and frontline/bedside nurse leaders and emerging leaders.
Accreditation: The Midwest Multistate Division is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
Participants are eligible to receive 4.0 contact hours
What is the Midwest Multistate Division? The Kansas State Nurses Association, Missouri Nurses Association and Nebraska Nurses Association formed a collaborative, namely the Midwest Multistate Division (Midwest MSD), with the goal of promoting efficiencies and growth. As part of this collaborative, the Midwest MSD Continuing Nursing Education Unit (CNE Unit) was formed, which is accredited as an ANCC approver and provider of CNE, to address the educational needs of nurses in the Midwest region.
